How come we haven't built a huge spaceship?

it seems like were sending little pencils into orbit.. Why not build a large one, install 10 nuclear reactors on it, make a bio-shere inside it so it could sustain human life. A water source, ect... then take it to the planets in our solar system... It can be done, money isnt an object when there wasting billions on wars.
