Is it dangerous to exercise with a cat in your room?

I would definitely just leave the door open and start slow. Make sure you're conscious of where he is - you wouldn't want to hurt him. Just continue on and make sure you don't stare at him while you do it! he'll think you're trying to do something to him. if you don't look at him so much he'll figure out it has nothing to do with him.
