Can zebra finches and society finches live together in the same cage?

I am getting birds soon and I want to know if these two finch species can live together. I have owned these two species before but never at the same time. It is perfectly fine if they cannot, I just want to know if it unsafe or if they will fight. And if they can is there a certain gender combo that I should look out for so they don't fight?
