What would republicans have done during the great depression?
the new deal was enacted in mid to late 1930s, great depression was said to have ended 1945. FDR had trouble ping his New Deal becuase of conservative congress which makes sense. Herbert Hoover(R)1929-33 was actually blamed for stock market crash and depression and he did not do a thing about it. So is it correct to ume that the republican answer to a economic crisis is to not do anything? or to cut taxes? that's pretty inefficient in my opinion-at least FDR tried whether or not he actually helped stop the great depression is still debatable. But i do wonder what would have been the republican solution to an economic crisis?
